Exciting Methods Courses for Fall 2008
This is an anouncement of interest to graduate students looking for more quantitative methods offerings (and for their advisors who have asked about this). In addition to our normal graduate methods offerings for the Fall of 2008 (Applied Statistics 430 Multilevel Modeling, and Applied Statistics 450 Panel Data), the Center for Applied Statistics has provided/arranged/communicated for the following two additions:
1. Bayesian Statistics taught by Sid Chib in the Olin School. Professor Chib has said that he welcomes Political Science students this Fall for his well-known course.
2. George Casella (University of Florida, Department of Statistics) will be giving a joint seminar/course throughout the semester with one of our faculty entitled "Markov Chain Monte Carlo: From the Beginning to the Present." This offering is designed for advanced graduate students who are interested in using Bayesian stochastic simulation in theiqr work. Course details will be announced later in the Spring.
